David G. Haglund
David Haglund is the Sir Edward Peacock professor of political studies at Queen's University. For almost 15 years, he was director of the university's Centre for International Relations. After receiving his PhD in 1978 from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), in Washington, DC, he assumed teaching and research positions at the University of British Columbia before joining the faculty at Queen's University in 1983. His research focuses on transatlantic security, and on Canadian and American foreign and security policy. Among his recent books are The North Atlantic Triangle Revisited: Canadian Grand Strategy at Century's End (2000); The France-US Leadership Race: Closely Watched Allies (2000); and Over Here and Over There: Canada-US Defence Cooperation in an Era of Interoperability (2001).
Joseph T. Jockel
Joseph T. Jockel is professor and director of the Canadian studies program at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. He has an MA from the University of Toronto and a PhD from the Nitze School of Advanced International Studies of Johns Hopkins University in Washington. He is the author or co-author of several books and many articles on Canadian defence policy and Canada-U.S. relations. His latest book (2007) is Canada in NORAD, 1957-2007: A History. He is a past president of the Association for Canadian Studies in the United States. He has held many research fellowships and most recently was distinguished visiting professor at the Canadian Forces College in Toronto.

Rima Berns-McGown
Rima Berns-McGown teaches diaspora studies in the University of Toronto’s Centre for Diaspora and Transnational Studies, the Munk Centre’s Master’s Program in International Relations, and the Historical Studies Department. She is the author of Muslims in the Diaspora: The Somali Communities of London and Toronto, as well as numerous articles in edited books and refereed journals. Her research interests include diaspora and migration; the interrelationships between culture, religion, and politics; and political culture.

Adam Chapnick
Adam Chapnick is the deputy director of education at the Canadian Forces College and an assistant professor of defence studies at the Royal Military College of Canada. He holds a BA (Honours) from Trent University, an MA in International Affairs from Carleton University, and a PhD in History from the University of Toronto. He is the author of The Middle Power Project: Canada and the Founding of the United Nations (UBC Press, 2005) and the forthcoming Canada’s Voice: The Public Life of John Wendell Holmes (UBC Press, 2009) and the co-editor, with Norman Hillmer, of Canadas of the Mind: The Making and Unmaking of Canadian Nationalisms in the Twentieth Century (McGill-Queen’s University Press, 2007). His research interests include Canadian political and diplomatic history, Canadian-American relations, and Canadian foreign policy.

Michael Cotey Morgan
Michael Morgan is a PhD student in international history at Yale University. After graduating from the University of Toronto in 2001, he received an MPhil in international relations from Cambridge. His dissertation, which traces the origins of the Helsinki Final Act, has taken him to a dozen archives across Europe and North America. In addition to a number of academic articles, he has written for the Globe and Mail and Wall Street Journal.
